The Veil
You stand, it is the beginning of the day
You bathe, you clothe yourself
The light is pouring through the window
You take some simple nourishment
You lace your shoes
Consider a jacket, and leave it behind
You take no bag, no briefcase, nothing
You turn your back to your bookshelves
And you turn your back to your desk
You turn your back to your bed, and hearth
You step out the Doorway
into the new day
You bathe, you clothe yourself
The light is pouring through the window
You take some simple nourishment
You lace your shoes
Consider a jacket, and leave it behind
You take no bag, no briefcase, nothing
You turn your back to your bookshelves
And you turn your back to your desk
You turn your back to your bed, and hearth
You step out the Doorway
into the new day
