Betrayal

You took my money from me
So I invested it in you

You cut my body open
So I donated blood

Then you took away my memories
So I dropped tears, like pearls
Into the sea

Then my children were gone
And I heard their laughter in the halls

The women went, one
After another, and I made paintings of them

Then cars disappeared, then houses
Then careers - then my blue-eyed wife

And you took away opportunity
So I found a small square room of freedom

You then began to tell me lies
So I put my intuition on the chopping block

Then I told you a lie
And put a dagger into your world

Then

Finally, when I woke up in a strange bed
There was a young boy standing in the room

He asked :
Will you betray me?
